Focus on Akufo-Addo’s term and stop the squabbles – NPP group
A group calling itself Movement for Justice and Equal Rights in the New Patriotic Party has called for calm within the party.
They have advised their fellow NPP members to focus on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s four-year term left to serve Ghanaians and stop the squabbles for the flagbearer slot.
The group further indicated that they did not like the Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu’s recent utterances regarding the race for the flagbearer position in the party.
Coordinator for the group Alhaji Ben Ali Simma made this plea to the leadership of the party advising them that they deserve better.
There is disagreement among some of the party’s members over who will lead the party after President Akufo-Addo completes his term in office. As others clamour for Vice President Dr Bawumia to succeed his current boss, some others think it is time for Alan Kyeremateng to lead the party in 2024.
That debate has created some disquiet in the party leading to many leading members including National Chairman Freddie Blay calling for calm and focus.
