VR: Police arrest one, hunt for 2 others involved in the murder of an 85-year-old
On June 16, 2022, the Ghana police reported that they have detained John Adonu, a welder, for his alleged involvement in the murder of Joseph Tawiah Darko, an 85-year-old man, in Kpetoe, Volta Region.
It will be recalled that on June 14, 2022, the 85-year-old deceased was reported missing after he left home on June 13, 2022 and did not return.
His headless body was discovered under a tree on his estate on June 15, 2022. The body has since been taken to the Ho Teaching Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
Police say investigations is still underway, and efforts are being made to apprehend two more people whose names have surfaced in the investigation and are suspected of being involved in the murder.
According to the police, suspect John Adonu appeared in court on, Friday, June 17, 2022, and was remanded until June 29, 2022.
To successfully complete investigation into the case, police say “we are asking for help from members of the Kpetoe community in particular, as well as the general public”.
