Two police officers involved in bullion van robberies – police report
A probe conducted over the months by the police service with regards to the bullion van robberies has unravelled the fact that two police officers are complicit in the said crime.
According to a statement from the Ghana Police Service, it bemoaned the number of unfortunate bullion vans that have come under attack including the infamous one that occurred in Jamestown that resulted in the death of an officer. The police have urged the public to remain calm as it[public] will soon be briefed on details regarding the incident.
The police further assured Ghanaians they will continue to work to battle crime across the country.
It will be recalled that in June 2021 some suspected robbers that attacked a bullion van at Adedenkpo in James town Accra ended up shooting a police officer.
According to reports the said officer who was with the National SWAT team of the Police was escorting the money in the vehicle and was seated in the front seat.
