Suspected journalist murderers in Police grips, two dead

Persons suspected to be involved in the robbery and killing of international journalist have been apprehended by the Police

The police are said to have apprehended some highway robbers suspected to be the murderers of an international journalist in Ghana.

Police intelligence by the Special Anti-robbery Task Force led to the capture of the four; namely Saaju Bukari, Bertor Saabi, Ali Amadi and Isaad Seidu

This obviously did not go down without a fight as they matched the robbers boot for boot in a gun battle resulting in the death of two robbers in the process.

According to some probes conducted by the Police, these robbers are said to be behind so many robberies on the stretch leading to the unfortunate death of the journalist according to a Police statement on Sunday 29th August 2021.

The international journalist Syyed Taalay Ahmed with the London based MTA news was unfortunately murdered when these robbers attacked the bus they were travelling in, to Accra on Monday 23rd August 2021 on the Buipe Highway.

They were rushed to the Buipe Polyclinic after the incident but later transferred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital where Mr Taalay was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Police has assured that they have put measures in place to combat crime on that particular stretch following many complaints.

Several items were retrieved by the Police upon capturing the suspected robbers. They included some bayonets, locally manufactured pistols, live bullets including some stolen mobile phones and motorbikes as well.
