Sosu is set to appear in court today as a tussle with the Police continues
After several failed attempts to arrest Madina lawmaker Francis-Xavier Sosu, he is expected to appear before the court today according to the summons the Police secured against him to answer charges the Police levelled against him.
A resort to the court to get the lawmaker invited was the last option of the Ghana Police Service after the lawmaker failed to honour their initial invitation.
It is also not known if the lawmaker has been seen personally or even acknowledged receipt of the court summons which he is supposed to appear before today.
The lawmaker’s tussle with the Police is pertaining to the occurrences during the protest in the constituency over deplorable roads of which he led some of the protestors allegedly blocking roads, burning tyres and destroying some properties.
Police have failed on multiple occasions to get hold of him with Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin getting involved and denying the Police request for Mr Sosu’s release for questioning. The action has created varying views among members of the house with the Majority side questioning the judgement of the Speaker while the Minority thinks otherwise.
