Soldiers to assist ECG technicians to install prepaid meters at Krobo enclave
The Eastern Regional House of Chiefs has as part of efforts to help restore electricity supply to the Lower Manya Krobo and Yilo Krobo municipalities organized a meeting that involved the National Security Minister, ECG, the Regional Minister and Municipal Chief Executives for the two municipalities to seek a roadmap towards settling the impasse that caused them the darkness for over three weeks.
Led by the paramount Chiefs and president of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, the meeting held on 11th August concluded on certain things must be met as part of the processes to restore power to the area.
In a press release, the Ministry of National Security indicated that some the measures that were agreed on includes, the conduct of integrity test on all power transmission lines and electricity infrastructure in the area. The resumption of the installation of pre-paid meters following the restoration of electricity supply to the areas, the deployment of security personnel to the said areas to ensure law and order during the installation of pre-paid meters, amongst others.
