Sack Ken Ofori-Atta if you love Ghana – former NPP General Secretary advises Akufo-Addo
A former General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, has called on president Nana Akufo-Addo to sack finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
In an interview with Kessben TV, he noted that the country is sinking and needs be saved while adding that the idea of the banking sector clean-up exercise was not necessary, looking at the quantity of money spent on it.
According Kwabena Agyepong, the government could have just supported the banks to become solvent than close them down and rendering most of the employees jobless.
He stated that inflation and other leading factors are evident of the need for the president to sack the managers of the economy, mainly the finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
“We are in dangerous territory and so therefore one of the only major thing the president can do to arrest the situation is for the president to clear up the managers of the economy. It is a fact, this is what is left for him to do because you can’t let the same people who have driven us to this stage to remain in office, nobody wants Ken Ofori-Atta’s job,” he said.
The former General secretary concluded that though he is an NPP leading member, he must speak the truth. “When we were with the president in 1992 where were those with him now?” he asked.
