The Ellembelle Divisional Police Commander, ACP Dodzi Hlordzi has allegedly been interdicted over the arrest of the District Chief Executive of the area, Mr Kwasi Bonzo.
Information gathered shows that ACP Dodzi Hlordzi was interdicted on Tuesday 6th September, following the arrest of the Ellembelle DCE.
It has emerged that the DCE was on his way to Sekondi for a radio program when he received a tip-off that a brand new excavator has being spotted on the Ellembelle road. He and his team made a chase at the excavator and tracked the machine to a spot after the Ankobra Beach Resort but could not stop it.
The DCE and his team persisted till the vehicle transporting the machine slowed down while going over some rumble strips few meters to the Axim junction.
It was there that the DCE is reported to have identified the excavator as among the two missing machines.
Upon inquiring from the driver where he was taking the excavator to, some plain-clothed officers in a white pick-up and Nissan patrol car came out and a confrontation ensued and in the course of heated exchanges, the DCE was physically assaulted, handcuffed and pushed into the waiting white pick-up. He was then sent to the Western Region Police Command.
Meanwhile, a police statement on the service official Facebook page confirmed the arrest of the DCE. The police statement said he led a group of thugs to attack the police who were transporting the excavator they discovered in the forest to Takoradi.
