Owusu Bempah has been granted GHS200,000 bail on health conditions
The embattled Founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, has been granted bail.
Reverend Owusu Bempah was granted bail this afternoon by an Accra High court after an appeal by his lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo Esq. The man of God will be released after satisfying the conditions of providing GHS200,000 worth of property and two persons as sureties.
Counsel for the prophet appealed on the basis that the health condition of his client isn’t a good one as witnessed the day he was sent to jail. He argued that it wouldn’t be appropriate for his client to be moved from cells to the Police hospital and back hence his appeal for him to be released so he can seek medical attention from home.
Lawyer Nimako also argued that Reverend Owusu Bempah is a very popular public figure, hence, wouldn’t be able to escape from the country or the Police without him being found and arrested soon.
It is expected that the embattled prophet will be released before the close of day today.
On Monday, September 13, 2021, the man of God and three other members who were arrested a day before were arraigned before the Accra Circuit court 5 on three counts of offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace, the threat of death, and assault of office of public officers.
He is expected to appear before the Accra Circuit Court on Monday, September 20, 2020, for the continuation of the trial.
