The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has expressed delight in participation by Ghanaians over the covid-19 vaccination process.
According to the minister, over 400,000 people have already taken the jab across the country and that he said is encouraging due to the high turnout.
Speaking about the immerse participation exhibited by Ghanaians Mr Oppong Nkrumah argued that the development shows that the initial hesitancy levels that Ghanaians showed has gone down gradually.
“We noticed that the hesitancy levels we recorded in our baseline survey of about 60% has all now gone gradually coming down and even in some places there is even a rush with people even ready to pay for the vaccine for which are dealing with.”
On the way forward, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah urged Ghanaians to adhere to the outlined measures put out by the government to curb the spread of the virus.
“Moving forward we need to understand how to take the vaccine and build immunity but still comply with what we call the new normal that is, the wearing nose mask, social distancing and washing of hands,” he added.
The government has however revealed that it is working on vaccinating 2 million Ghanaians of which the Ministry of Health is working on securing more vaccines.
