One Killed As Robbers Attack Filling Station On Easter Monday
Four Armed robbers have attacked Goodness Energy Filling Station in Akyem Osiem in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region killing one person.
An eyewitness who doubles as the Assembly Member for Osiem Efigya, Seth Adu, confirmed this in an interview whilst ASP Fred Kpetigo, Crime Officer of Abuakwa North Police Command, confirmed to Reporters that, on Monday, April 5,2021 at about 1920hours the four men armed with three pump action guns and a knife attacked Goodness Energy Filling station at Osiem.
The armed men fired indiscriminately resulting in the death of one Nuhu Yashawu aged 32, who was escaping from the scene. Another victim, Padmore Ofosu aged 71 was also hit at the back by a pellet and was quickly treated and discharged.
The robbers took away the night sales the sum of which is not yet known plus a Motorola phone belonging to the night security man Adamu Zakari, aged 30 years.
Five empty cartridges were retrieved at the scene. Body of the deceased has been deposited at the Hawa Memorial hospital Mortuary in Osiem pending autopsy whilst police commences investigations. No arrest has been made as at the time of filing this report.
