Oliver Barker-Vormawor granted GH¢30,000 bail after he was arrested earlier today
Oliver Barker-Vormawor has been granted bail to the tune of GH¢30,000 by the Madina District Court following his arrest earlier today.
The #FixTheCountry campaigner was slapped with three counts: Failing to comply with Road markings contrary to section 28(b) of RTA 761/08, Causing danger to other road users contrary to Reg.185 of L. I 2180/12 and Careless and Inconsiderate driving: sect 3 of RTA 683/04 as amended by act 761/08.
According to the police charge sheet, Mr Vormawor committed the offence around 7:30 am in the morning around the East Legon Underbridge along the Boundary road. He was quickly arraigned before the Madina District Court by the Police.
Mr Vormawor was charged with two other drivers who pleaded guilty and were fined GH¢300 each but Vormawor pleaded not guilty and was granted bail with the conditions including two sureties. His lawyer and the Police investigators will confirm his bail before his release.
Prominent for his role in the social media pressure group, #FixTheCountry, he is already standing trial for allegedly threatening a coup when he purportedly made comments that he would undertake a coup d’etat if the E-levy bill was passed into law. He spent several weeks in Police custody before he was granted bail to the tune of GH¢2 million with two sureties.
