No Shoddy Road Works Will Be Allowed – Minister Warns Contractors
Minister for Roads and Highways Hon Amoako Attah has lamented the shoddy road works done by some contractors.
He said this during a meeting with department heads, various agency heads and stakeholders under the Roads and Highways at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
He indicated that the benefits the contractors got from the Year of Roads, they ought to do a good job that is getting us durable roads and would not entertain shoddy road works.
He also seized the opportunity to remind the various stakeholders present at the meeting that President Akufo-Addo still declared 2021 as the Year of Roads and therefore the onus lies on them to work harder to achieve that.
The minister then reiterated this by saying ‘’we are not doing the work for the president but for Ghana .
Eastern Regional Minister Seth Acheampong also added that there are roads that are still being worked on in the Eastern Region as well.
He also clarified that it’s not because the Minister hails from Eastern Region but he as the Regional Minister wants to ensure that the region gets its fair share of the good roads.
