NCCE To Commemorate Constitution Week
The National Commission on Civic Education will commence the celebration of its annual constitution week. This weeklong celebration is one of the flagship programmes of the Commission which is instituted to commemorate the country’s return to constitutional democratic rule after many years of military adventurism in governance.
This year’s celebration is based on the “We Are One, Ghana First.” The commission is thus urging every Ghanaian to put Ghana First, rally around the Constitution and defend the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana at all times.
Dubbed: ‘Rally Round The GhConstitution, the celebration will see the NCCE engage citizens on Ghana’s Constitution and raise awareness about the need for everyone to be abreast with the Supreme Law of the land. It will also interact with the general public, display civic messages on the duties of a citizen, intensify public education on constitutionalism and distribute copies of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana to the general public to emphasize the importance of the Constitution as a living document in every way of our lives.
It is also urging Ghanaians to in the pursuit “for liberty, equality of opportunity and prosperity” make it a duty to understand the aspirations of the celebration and the Constitution and work harder to consolidate Ghana’s democracy.
