A Community Police Assistant in Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality, Owusu Boateng has been arrested by the police for stabbing a co-tenant whose name is given as Collins Dormant to death.
Reports say the incident happened when both parties were involved in an argument over a light bill. In the course of the argument, the Police Officer who is said to have been furious with the deceased, Collins who have not paid his light bills for months, took a knife from his pocket and stabbed on the chest of the co-tenant resulting in his demise.
The deceased body is reported to have been taken to St. Mike’s Hospital Mortuary for preservation as police continue investigations.
By the intervention of the police, Officer Boateng’s life was saved as the heated community youth wanted to lynch him as punishment for the alleged murder.
In exercising their displeasure, the youth blocked roads and burnt tyres according to reports.
