‘Missing’ Captain Smart found at Greda Estate Police Station
Blessed Godsbrain Smart, also known as Captain Smart, the host of Onua TV/FM morning show has been found at the Greda Estates Police Station following earlier reports of his whereabouts not being known.
He was discovered late Thursday, February 3, 2022 morning at the Greda Estates Police Station, where he is in good condition.
Captain Smart was taken into National Security custody on Wednesday evening shortly after he was granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court where he had pleaded not guilty to two charges of extortion and abetment of extortion. The firebrand media personality was, however, nowhere to be found on Thursday morning when his whereabouts were being sought; causing concern among friends, colleagues, and admirers.
The state security apparatus detained the Maakye presenter on Wednesday immediately after an Accra Circuit Court granted him bail on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
According to National Security, an order came down from up high to bring Captain Smart and another person to the secretariat.
Despite meeting the bail requirements, he was then locked up for the night. When top executives from Media General, the parent firm of Onua FM and Onua TV, went to the secretariat to see the radio host, he wasn’t there.
Enquiries led the team, which included Group Chief Executive Officer Beatrice Agyemang, to the Ministries Police Station, where they were told he was not listed as having been there in the records.
They were eventually directed to the Greda Estates Police Station, where he was found.
