Mampong Traditional Council in Tussle With Fire Service
The Mampong Traditional Council in the Akuapim North District of the Eastern Region appears not to be happy with a decision Fire Service in their district took.
From the complaints of the traditional council, they said they have tried to tell the Fire Service in their district to rescind its decision to move out but to no avail. The chief indicated that even the district chief executive does not agree with the Fire Service decision.
Nana Yirenkyi one of the Mampong chiefs disclosed to the media that it has been forty years since the Fire Service first came to the town. According to him, they have served them well so if there are any issues they should come and resolve them amicably but not decide to move their station out like that.
The Chief indicated that he is aware they have taken it to Akropong and he is not happy about that. There is no comment from the Ghana National Fire Services as to the reasons for their decision as of now.
