Krobos vow to not let anything come between them and ECG again
Relieved Chiefs of the Krobo enclave after the restoration of the light by the Electricity Company of Ghana to the area are optimistic that both parties[Krobos and ECG] will respect the agreed decisions for a peaceful co-existence.
They also expressed joy about the fact that the economy in the enclave will experience a boom once again following the restoration of the light after three weeks of being in darkness.
A feud between the ECG and residents of Krobo led to to the area being cut off from the national grid. Residents had resisted the installation of prepaid meters but after deliberations, the peace pipe was smoked with ECG finally restoring the power on 19th August 2022.
Businesses in the area came tumbling down with those reliant on electricity having to close down or spend more to secure alternative power sources to continue operations.
Critical areas such as jobs, education and health within the community were not spared either with a series of complaints coming from their quarters.
Nene Anyeenorgu Teye Agor IX, though glad the power has been restored assured that they will never allow such a situation to repeat itself.
