Korle-Bu Hospital suspends surgeries at its ICU
Information coming through indicates that, the nation’s major referral hospital the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, unfortunately, had no choice but to suspend planned surgeries to be carried out at its Intensive Care Unit due to low pressure from its oxygen plant.
This has caused the plant not to be able to pump the required level of pressure needed for its intensive care unit to carry out surgeries for patients.
The hospital has assured that round the clock maintenance of the plant will be done to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
As an alternative measure, emergency surgeries are being done by the hospital with gas from gas cylinders.
Management will soon release a statement regarding the situation so far to keep the general public updated.
