ken Ofori-Atta to deliver ‘big’ address to Ghanaians today
Ghana’s Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta is scheduled to address the citizenry today on measures the government has so far taken to salvage the economy.
The Minister will enumerate to Ghanaians in detail what the government was able to come up with after a three-day cabinet retreat at Peduase over the weekend.
President Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to ready themselves for the announcement by the Finance Minister.
An emergency cabinet meeting was held over the weekend at Peduase to consider a myriad of issues confronting the country, which includes the rising cost of fuel and general inflation in the country, and brainstorm on how to arrest the situation.
Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, revealed that President Akufo-Addo has already approved several ‘far-reaching measures to address the challenges such as the depreciation of the Cedi, high public expenditure, inflation and fuel price hikes.
