Jon Benjamin joins ‘Do or Die’ discussion
The love affair between former United Kingdom High Commissioner, Jon Benjamin and Ghana will not be ending anytime soon.
He has also waded into the discussion of the controversial “do or die” comment made by former President Mahama.
He tweeted at actor John Dumelo a politician himself asking him if he had patented the slogan “I dey do or die 4 you” yet? His friend John Dumelo also responded in the affirmative saying ” not yet I might add some Spanish to it”.
Mr Mahama made the statement on Techiman-based Akina FM during an interview while on phase two of his “Thank You” tour which he started with a trip to the Bono Region. He has been condemned by some section of Ghanaians and urged to retract and apologize but he has since defended the statement explaining that it is an “idiomatic expression”.
Jon Benjamin who was UK High Commissioner to Ghana between 2014 and 2017 has been always engaged himself with Ghanaians on social media over matters trending in Ghana finding comic ways to add his voice to the conversations. He is currently Director of the Diplomatic Academy at the British Foreign Office and the British Ambassador-Designate to Mexico.
