Investigate impersonation allegations against Adwoa Sarfo -ASEPA to Parliament
The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has waded into the issue of impersonation regarding the legislator for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency Hon Sarah Adwoa Sarfo.
ASEPA has indicated that they have evidence to support their claims that the woman who came to Parliament during the approval of the 2022 budget was not Madam Adwoa Safo and have submitted footage backed by claims from a forensic expert to that effect.
The Civil Society Organization has called on Parliament to probe the issue regarding the alleged impersonation.
“We are willing to share the report of the forensic expert with Mr. Speaker’s committee and if it is so constituted and we are called on to testify,” ASEPA said in the press statement.
This conversation of alleged impersonation of Madam Adwoa Safo was sparked by the fact that when the Majority needed numbers to approve the 2022 budget the legislator showed up that day after months of absence but some sections of Ghanaians were not convinced she was the one.
What raised more suspicion was the fact that the alleged imposter left the Chamber a few minutes after voting.
ASEPA’s statement endorsed by its Executive Director, Mr. Mensah advised the legislature to probe claims by the Chief Justice His Lordship Justice Anin Yeboah that he met the Majority before the budget was approved on Tuesday.
According to the ASEPA, this issue amounts to the interference of the judiciary in the work of the legislature.
