Insufficient supply of water to Tema due to Beach road construction works – GWCL
Challenges within some parts of Tema in accessing water have been blamed on the ongoing works on the Teshie-Nungua Beach Road.
Mr Stanley Martey, Head of Communications of the GWCL in explaining the reasons for the inadequate supply of water to the area attributed the challenge to some issues at the Teshie Desalination plant and other problems.
Residents within some parts of Tema have not enjoyed regular water for almost two months.
Meanwhile, the GWCL has revealed it is doing everything possible for the residents to enjoy their supply.
Mr Martey said the relocation of their lines due to the construction works ongoing on the Beach road forced the company to resort to rationing of water.
He hoped the constriction would soon be done and the breakages within their lines would cease for the residents to enjoy adequate service. He apologized to the residents for the unfortunate situation.
