Ignore unethical reports from media houses about our MCE’s death – Aide
Office of the late Krachi East Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Francis Kofi Okesu has questioned the professional and ethical standards of some media outlets that announced the unfortunate demise of the MCE.
In a statement issued on 5th September 2022, endorsed by his assistant Sham-Una Gmakanyi Sulemana, the office said the late MCE was a “devoted Christian,” diligent and sober.
According to the statement, the family felt very hurt at some of the headlines concerning the death of their relatives and are optimistic about getting clarity on the matter as Ghana Police Service conducts its investigations and the Ghana Health Service carries out an autopsy on the late MCE’s remains.
“Until such a report is released by these professional institutions of the state, any media story such as the recent headline from Joy News, Daily Graphic and other media houses should be disregarded and considered Unprofessional and unethical,” the statement added.
The citizenry was then urged to treat such reports with the contempt the deserve as the seek to tarnish the hard-won reputation of the MCE who for the past year has diligently served his people.
As it stands now a probe has been initiated by the Ghana Police Service into the death of the late Mr Okesu who was MCE for Krachi East and Dean for the MMDCEs in the Oti Region.
Mr Okesu met his untimely death in a hotel room in the Ashanti Region.
His demise has left residents of his municipality shocked and sad as they mourn a man who brought simile to their faces.
