If Queen Elizabeth leads the UK to develop, let’s also choose a chief to lead us – Quotation Master
Controversial Ghanaian ‘walking Bible encyclopedia’, Quotation Master has added his voice to the discussions surrounding Ghana’s economy by calling for the inclusion of chiefs in active politics.
Speaking to Annor Clement on the Active Morning Show on Wednesday, July 20, Quotation Master explained that it is a need that chiefs must be involved in politics in Ghana right now.
According to him, every party that comes into power gives fake promises and often later fails to fulfil them. Consequently, the impact of these fake promises by the ruling and outgone governments is leaving behind several problems including high inflation in the system.
That he said if chiefs are involved in the politics of this country, Ghana would not face developmental challenges. He argued that the traditional leaders have got deeper brains and ruling skills to lead and therefore they should be allowed to take part in politics. Their participation he says will have a positive impact thus leading to a better Ghana.
Quotation Master added that if the nation can involve chiefs in the political affairs of the country, it will one day become a remarkable one compared to that of the United Kingdom where they have Queen Elizabeth as their leader and there is total development.
The 1992 Constitution of Ghana does not allow chiefs to participate in active politics and it states in Article 276(1) that “A chief shall not take part in active party politics; and any chief wishing to do so and
seeking election to Parliament shall abdicate his stool or skin”.
Chiefs are, however, permitted to hold public offices for which they are qualified.
