I will help you ‘break the 8’ – Adwoa Safo replies Akufo-Addo’s sacking letter
Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo has indicated of her resolve to consolidate the gains of her party in the constituency level to “break the 8”.
The former minister for Gender Children and Social Protection stated in her response letter to President Nana Akufo-Addo revoking her position as minister stating that she will now have more time to concentrate on her parliamentary duties now that she has handed over her ministerial responsibilities and “as well as consolidate the gains we have made as a government at the Constituency level in our quest to break the eight.”
In a letter dated 5th August 2022, the MP said “it is with profound gratitude that I express utmost appreciation to you for the opportunity to serve as Minister in both terms of your government”.
She disclosed that she handed over all her official assets to the Administrator General the following day after her position as a minister was revoked.
“Cognizant of my duties to the 75,000 constituents who elected me, this development is opportune and will afford me more time to concentrate on my Parliamentary responsibilities and Constituency engagements as well as consolidate the gains we have made as a government at the Constituency level in our quest to break the eight,” she concluded.
