I will accept Parliament’s decision – Sarah Adwoa Safo
Lawmaker for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo through her aide Nana Dubin has stated her willingness to accept the verdict from the legislature’s probe into her constant absenteeism.
The aide revealed that the lawmaker will be joining the colleague lawmaker upon Parliament’s resumption from recess.
It was a close shave for the legislator from losing her seat as Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin only at the last minute deferred defer his decision concerning the matter to when Parliament resumes from recess after the privileges committee submitted its report.
The lawmaker and her two colleagues were investigated for their constant absenteeism from the house without permission. Her colleagues, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Assin Central MP and Henry Quartey, Ayawaso Central MP appeared before the committee but Sarah Adwoa Safo failed to do so leaving her fate entirely in the hands of the house to decide.
Though she has blamed her constant absence on addressing a situation in her family and also her son being sick she, unfortunately, lost her job as the Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister in the Akufo-Addo-led administration
