I saw Ahanta West MP arrive in an ambulance – Alban Bagbin
Adding to the controversy of the presence of the ailing Ahanta West lawmaker Ebenezer Kojo Kum, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has revealed that he saw the lawmaker arrive in an ambulance.
“I saw how Ahanta West MP and Chieftaincy Minister Ebenezer Kojo Kum was brought to Parliament in an ambulance,” the Speaker said in the House on Thursday.
The lawmaker who has been sick for some time now arrived in the House in the ambulance and is said to have received treatment at the Parliament clinic. The Majority group critically needed him in order to have the numbers to pass the controversial E-levy bill which ended up being passed by a one-sided house.
Before the controversial levy was passed, the Minority side staged a walkout and have subsequently filed a writ at the Supreme Court seeking to nullify the passage citing a lack of quorum.
The Majority side on the other hand has been quiet over claims by the Minority that the sick MP did not enter the chamber.
