I am sorry – Ken Ofori-Atta apologizes to Ghanaians
Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta for the second time, appeared before the parliamentary committee today as investigations into the allegations of the Minority in Parliament seeking to oust him from office continue.
The embattled Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta apologised to Ghanaians over the current economic hardships.
In his opening remarks at the second meeting with the ad-hoc committee set up by the Speaker of Parliament to probe allegations seeking his removal from office as presented by the Minority, Mr Ofori-Atta stated that it was not the government’s intention to put Ghanaians through any form of hardship.
He said the current crises have come about due to the devastating effects of Covid-19 and not as a result of the government’s recklessness as has been the crusade of the Minority.
According to him, water and electricity were provided to formal and informal companies and households for free. Some workers were paid for nine months without going to work.
