GRIDCO hints of possible load management following the destruction of 330kV lines
Ghanaians have been urged to brace themselves for a likely “load management” following a revelation by the Ghana grid company that a communication mast fell on a 330kV Aboadze – Kumasi transmission line.
According to GRIDCo, on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, the fall of the mask resulted in the “collapse of two adjacent towers” near Bogoso in the Western Region.
“This has affected the national power system and may result in some load management. GRIDCo is working around the clock to replace the fallen towers within the shortest possible time”, the statement assured.
The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused and assures the public it is “committed to maintaining a stable network for reliable and efficient power delivery”.
GRIDCo is the main company that transmits electricity from wholesale power suppliers or power generating companies to bulk customers such as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Northern Electricity Department (NED) and the Mines.
