Convener of the coalition for La Youth Jeffery Tetteh has indicated their readiness to have issues over the Kpledzoo lands resolved.

The convener further indicated what gives them hope is the assurance from the lands and natural resources minister Samuel Abu Jinapor that he would call for a meeting to resolve the land issue. They however want the minister and other stakeholders involved in the issue to expedite action to resolve the issue.

He said both parties, that is the youth of La and the military was advised to stop visiting the land before the issue is resolved. He said they would respect that decision but as soon as they notice the military visiting the place they will also go there.

Secondly, they want a bi-partisan approach from parliament to resolve the issue. They do not want the military to claim that they are resolving the issue.

The complaint of the la youth is stemming from their tussle for land with Ghana’s military which recently resulted in some of them being beaten up alongside some press officers over their protest on the land when they were told not to do that.

They are therefore calling for the issue to be resolved as quickly as possible to avoid further clashes between the youth and the Ghana Armed Forces.
