Government reveals neutrality allowance payment plan as CLOGSAG still strikes
Employment and Labour Relations Minister Ignatius Baffour Awuah has assured members of the Local Government Committee of Ghana’s legislature that the government is earnestly working on getting the striking CLOGSAG members back to their offices.
In a closed-door meeting, the Minister according to sources revealed to the committee a payment plan for the neutrality allowance of members of the Civil and Local Government Workers is ready.
It will be recalled that CLOGSAG had demanded such a plan as a prerequisite to calling off its almost a month old industrial action which has crippled assemblies across the country.
After the crunch meeting which lasted more than two hours, the Labour Minister and his Deputy Bright Wireko Brobbey emerged tight-lipped.
Leadership and Members of the Committee unlike what transpired after Monday’s meeting with CLOGSAG also opted for silence.
