The Public Interest Accountability Committee (PIAC) and the  Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) are scheduled to appear before the ad-hoc committee investigating allegations levelled against Finance Minister Ken Ofori –Atta that led to a censure motion tabled against him by the Minority.

Member of Parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a committee member, revealed the meeting between the two bodies and the committee.

Their invitation comes after the  Minority caucus who are proponents of the motion, were recently given the audience on their grounds for their allegations of conflict of interest and financial recklessness levelled against the Finance Minister.

The invitation of the two bodies is hinged on PIAC’s reports from 2019 to 2022 and the Petroleum Management Act cited by the Minority, represented by the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu and, Minority Spokesperson on Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson as some of the basis for their allegations against the Mr Ofori-Atta.

Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to begin to appear before the committee on Friday 18th November 2022 to defend himself against the accusation levelled against him by the Minority.
