Give us our 20 per cent COLA or risk our anger – GNAT
An ultimatum of June ending has been given to the government by an angry Ghana National Association of Teachers to give them the 20% Cost Of Living Allowance (COLA) or risk having to deal with the already angered 240,000 teachers nationwide.
GNAT bemoans that, the current delay continues to affect the meagre earnings of workers.
This, the General Secretary of GNAT, Thomas Musah Tanko says has affected the necessities of life.
During an interview with Accra-based TV3, he said there is an uneasy calm among the members of GNAT over the development.
“Things are now very difficult. I have spoken about this thing and I have been compelled under the circumstances because our members have been calling day and night, there is an uneasy calm among the entire membership and there is the need for something to be done as soon as possible.
“As I said, we are talking about the necessities of life, the issues of water, food shelter, clothing, ability to be able to tp pay your daily expenses, things that will enable you to live as a human being.”
