#FixTheCountry protest takes centre stage in Spain as protest gathers momentum among Ghanaians in the diaspora

Some Ghanaians living in Spain on Monday took to the streets of Valencia to protest what they say is the poor governance of Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo.

The protest by Ghanaians in the European country is in solidarity with the #FixTheCountry social media campaign that aims at forcing the government to fix what they believe to be the myriad of broken government systems.

Campaigners cite harsh economic conditions, poor health system and lack of jobs as some of the examples of the ‘broken things’ that need fixing.

Viral photos sighted by myactiveonline.com shows hundreds of Ghanaians holding the Ghana flag in solidarity with the #FixTheCountry campaigners in Ghana.

The Fix the country campaign started on Twitter and went viral a few weeks ago.

There is a planned demonstration by the conveners in Ghana, however, it has currently turned into a legal tussle between the protestors and the Police after the latter secured an injunction to stop the protestors from hitting the streets of Accra.

Police fear the protests could be a coronavirus super spreader event.
