Ghana Card to soon replace NHIS card – Dr Bernard Okoe Boye
The Ghana card is set to become the only required document to access services under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) at recognized health facilities, the National Health Insurance Scheme has disclosed.
The decision was confirmed by Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, Chief Executive Officer of the Authority after a brief meeting with the press in his office.
He also encouraged members enrolled on the scheme to merge both cards via short code *929# which is per the NHIA’s agenda of “One nation, one card for healthcare service.”
So far the NHIA remains on track as Ghana’s vehicle to attaining Universal Health Suffrage by 2030
