Addressing the gathering at the ceremony, he acknowledged the efforts of the people and leadership of the community in promoting peace and cohesion among the people in a bid to advance the development of the community.

“I stand with the rest of Ga-Odumase in honouring and praising the dedication that the Chiefs and good people have displayed through their efforts in promoting peace, human rights, tolerance, and understanding—values that are crucial to our continued existence as a people. Today, we commemorate the energetic spirit of young people in our most esteemed community and our ability to improve the future of humanity”.

He underscored the role of youth in the community and national development in all spheres and the critical role youth of the community play in making Ga-Odumase what it has become presently.

“Whether it’s on issues of human rights, technology, climate change, or healthcare, young people are frequently the voices leading the charge for societies to progress and better.”

Having championed several developmental projects in the community in the areas of education, sanitation, infrastructure and communication among others for nearly a decade, he pledged to do more after accepting that the new role as Nkosuohene (Development Chief) is a call for him to put in more efforts to make the community a better place for all.

“As the Nkosuohene of the Ga-Odumase Traditional Council, I will be even more dedicated to giving young people opportunities and making sure they are not only the change-makers of the future but also of today. We are investing in the potential of the next generation by making sure that boys and girls have equal access to education, developing skills to strengthen youth leadership in civil society, business, and academia, or giving a young entrepreneur the money and connections they need to expand their start-up,” he assured.

Knowing that to progress, collective efforts are needed, the Nkosuohene called on other stakeholders to support the community’s aspirations to bridge the generational gap that presently exists.

“I, therefore, urge the government, the private sector, and civil society organizations to continue prioritizing youth development and empowerment; continuing to build bridges that close the generational gap; continuing to mainstream youth in all spheres of society; continuing to concentrate on ways to address youth unemployment; continuing to invest in youth; and letting the benefits of the international year of youth be felt.”
