Francis-Xavier Sosu explains why he does not use a V8 car
Legislator for the Madina Constituency Francis-Xavier Sosu seems not to be moved by the sort of lavish lifestyle that comes with politics.
Seeing the economic situation of his constituents he feels it is not right to be driving the land cruiser V8 in town. Although he also got the car loan for it, he said “my conscience will not feel it is even right and to me, I feel it is a huge point of disconnect between you and the people,” he said.
He added that that is how he feels like serving his constituency. He is not just deceiving his constituents of living a moderate lifestyle.
What he went through in life and how he was able to get the opportunity to serve in that capacity make him see it as a service.
As a legislator for his area he has some projects going on in his constituency; health and education projects with some volunteers which he sometimes uses his monthly earnings as a Member of Parliament to fund .
For his education project, he attested to the fact that a company has sponsored him with four cars to award the best teacher in the Madina Constituency.
His advice for the youth who want to venture into politics is to first get a profession as he is a lawyer which keeps him going before entering into it in order not to be tempted by the pressure of lavish lifestyle that comes with it.
