Five Chinese nationals arrested at Ellembelle
Five Chinese are said to be in the grips of the police after a special operation they conducted in the Ellembelle district from Wednesday night through to Thursday dawn, September 8, 2022.
An attempt to unravel the mystery behind the two missing excavators of which one was found at Ellembelle was what inspired the intelligence operation by the police and resulted in the apprehension of the five Chinese nationals.
The suspects have since been in the custody of the police.
Their arrest comes up a day right after the District Chief Executive for Ellembelle, Kwasi Bonzo was arrested for allegedly preventing the police from carrying out their mandate when one of the missing excavators was found and was transported to the Western Regional police headquarters at Takoradi.
Mr Kwasi Bonzo has been arraigned and is expected to be in court today, 8th September 2022.
