Fear of China, others is what is stifling the fight against illegal mining – Nana Yaa Jantuah
The government has been advised to be fearless against some of the countries whose nationals have been caught in acts of illegal mining if the fight against the menace is something the country is serious about winning.
Nana Yaa Akyempim Jantuah, General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party in expressing her thoughts on the Aisha Huang saga on TV3 said it is about time the foreigners who flout the laws of the country are dealt with without fear or favour.
She also said Ghana is blessed with natural resources in abundance that other countries do not have and reiterated that Ghana should not be scared by such countries who even have less resources.
“Why should we be afraid of China? We have the resources, everything to make us so comfortable and be rich,” she queried.
