ECG’s situation should be a lesson to Ghana about digitization – Sulemana Braimah
Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa, Sulemana Braimah has stated that the technical glitch being experienced by the Electricity Company of Ghana is unfortunate as advanced companies in advanced countries also experience such instances.
Several clients of the power distribution company are unable to buy credit online as a result of the technical challenge faced by the company. Mr Braimah during a discussion on Joynews said he nearly also got stranded as a result of the problem.
He said, “since the announcement was made that the issue was been resolved I have tried since yesterday to buy credit through the ECG application but unfortunately I could not buy, my only dint of luck I did not completely run out of power ad I hope issues with the system is being resolved”.
Based on these experiences by customers of the ECG, Mr Braimah advised that “there should be a reflection of how we go about our digitization process and the way we have centralized such system as little hitch could blow up in our faces and I hope ECG addresses the situation”.
For days now the difficulty to credit prepaid has been the story of most ECG customers and though there have been instituted measures to address the situation, there is yet to be a full satisfactory remark from stakeholders.
