COP Tiwaa appointed new Executive Director of EOCO
Former Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa is heading to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) in the capacity of Executive Director.
Her appointment commenced on January 5 2022. Madam Tiwaa Addo Danquah replaces Mr Steve Raymond Dapaah Addo who served as EOCO’s Director in 2021.
The newly appointed Executive Director, COP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah while in the Police Service served as the Director-General of Police Professional and Standards Bureau (PPSB) until her new appointment.
Madam Tiwaa Addo-Danquah was recruited into the Ghana Police Service in 1990 and she is known as being the first woman Commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC) located in Winneba.
She was also moved to the Police Hospital where she served as the Administrator and headed the Commercial Crime Unit at the CID.
The public took notice of COP Addo-Danquah during the case involving the kidnapping of the three Takoradi girls who were later reported dead.
She was intensely criticised because of her handling of the case and faced numerous calls for her resignation while being accused of botching the investigation. However, since then, she has risen to hold several key positions in the service including her latest appointment.
