The Church of Pentecost has taken a page out of the lamentations book of some Ghanaians as inflation, exchange rate, interest rate and other economic indicators are in the worse trajectory.

A letter signed from the Headquarters of the Church of Pentecost and addressed to Area Head of of the church at Downtown Ofaakor reminded the Downtown branch that they could not meet the standard set in the first half of the year.

“According to the tithes and offering analysis from the finance department at the Headquarters, it emerged that Downtown Ofaakor Area, for the 1st half was GHS 3,188,529. However the Area recorded GHS 2,780,537 with a variance of GHS 407,992 representing 12.80%,” part of the statement read.

The letter indicated that though the Church takes cognizance of the effects of Covid-19 and the Russia and Ukraine war, members should work hard avert further shortfalls so that they can meet their annual budget targets.

“We are aware of the global effects of the war in Ukraine and the hardships that the COVID-19 still imposes on our members. But the above notwithstanding, let us continue to work hard at achieving our annual budget as we also pray with you,” the statement signed by the Chairman of the Church concluded.
