Buipe: Frustrated drivers call on MP to intervene to fix the broken bridge
Member of parliament for the Yapei Kosagwu Constituency John Jinapor has called for the fixing of the Buipe bridge.
His calls are based on the fact that that is a major bridge that links the northern part of Ghana to the southern part of Ghana and since it broke down most drivers have been stranded on the particular bridge with others finding alternative routes to get to their destination.
He stated that ‘’the significance of the Buipe bridge in connecting the south to the northern parts of the country cannot be downplayed and as such must be given maximum attention as soon as possible.’’
‘’I call on the Akufo-Addo – Bawumia led Government to immediately show compassion in fixing the road now so as to save the people of Ghana the frustrations of having to use the torn and tattered bridge on a daily basis.’’
This situation has also left both drivers and passengers frustrated as they complained to the legislator. The situation has also affected economic activities since traders cannot move to and fro easily to transact business.
