Aisha Huang’s accomplice collapsed in court today
During proceedings at the Accra Circuit Court today, 14th September there was drama when Aisha Huang’s case was called.
Before the conclusion of today’s proceedings, dramatic scenes occurred as one of the accomplices of Aisha Huang, a few minutes before the ruling was delivered by the judge, collapsed.
The Chinese nationals are facing charges of, the sale and purchase of minerals in Accra without a license and engaging in mining without a license.
Aisha Huang’s accomplice purportedly took ill and was rushed out by the police to the hospital.
The galamsey kingpin and her accomplices were remanded into police custody for a further two weeks as their request for bail by their Lawyer, Nkrabea Effah Dartey was rejected by the presiding judge.
Addressing the media, he described his clients’ actions as minor ones that are being over-flocked by the Ghanaian media, adding that in 2018, he was willing to defend his client Aisha Huang but received shocking news the Attorney General had her deported.
“The law did not disclose that the parliament of Ghana had passed any law to declare her a persona non-grata. The law does not show that there was any executive order to have her deported. She was told to come for a meeting and the next thing I heard, she had been flown out,” lead council of the accused said.
