The General Secretary for the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Citizen Ato Dadzie has derided the choice of members of the ad-hoc committee set up by Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament to investigate the censure motion against the Finance Minister the Minority.

Speaking in an interview with Agyenima Boateng Adjaye on the Active Morning Show, Citizen Dadzie said the choice of the committee members is bad giving the reason that the two co-chairs are both lawyers.

“I had a problem with the choice of people on the committee because the two chair persons are lawyers,” he explained.

Kobina Tahir Hammond, the Member of Parliament for Adansi-Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region and his co-chair, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, the Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East region are both lawyers.

Mr Dadzie explained that the profession backgrounds of the two does not give them enough understanding of the issues in the country and thus they are not able to appreciate the magnitude of the concerns raised.

“I am not too sure about the in-depth understanding of the financial issues of the country,” he doubted their understanding of the economic issues being discussed at the committee’s sitting.
