Act now or face our wrath – CETAG threatens government
Colleges of Education Teachers Association, CETAG, has issued an ultimatum to the government, to address the conditions of service it discussed with the government earlier along with other benefits, or else the government should expect another action from the association.
The association has given the government up to 31st Aug 2022 to address the issue else risk facing the necessary consequences from the group.
Government’s lackadaisical attitude toward addressing the conditions of service of CETAG to motivate its members has resulted in the association losing faith in the government and threatening to take action.
Despite their agreement with the government in August 2021, CETAG complained that the government has not been forthcoming in addressing their conditions of service so far and according to them this flouts Article 24 (1) of the 1992 constitution of Ghana.
Due to this, CETAG has cautioned the government to settle the conditions of service, compensations and research allowance, or else it will not hesitate to take necessary actions to ensure its members’ demands are met.
