Marwako resumes operation after two months shut down

Following two months of shutdown over alleged food poisoning, the management of Marwako Fast Food Limited on July 8, 2022, announced that they are back in full operation.

It will be recalled that the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) shut down other branches of Marwako Fast Foods in addition to the East Legon branch over alleged food poisoning.

In a press release on May 13, 2022, the FDA stated that “the authority in collaboration with the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly, suspended all activities of the Abelemkpe branch of Marwarko restaurant in addition to the East Legon branch as part of the ongoing investigations on the suspected food poisoning incidence.

The FDA’s shutdown was after some customers took to Twitter to complain about food poisoning.

However, the Management of Marwako Fast Food Limited on July 8, 2022, announced to inform the general public and its loyal customers that, the Food and Drugs Authority(FDA) has lifted the suspension of catering activities at the Abelemkpe and East Legon branches respectively.

Mohammed Amin Lamptey, the public relations officer of Marwako Fast Food Ltd said “Both our loyal and potential customers are cordially invited at the Abelemkpe and East Legon branches to patronise our foods and services tomorrow Saturday, July 9, 2022”.

Mr Mohammed Amin Lamptey, also added that “the management will also like to inform the general public that the La branch will remain closed whilst the Spintex road branch continues to go through the required process with FDA before the requisite food hygiene permit is issued for operation to start in no time”.

“The management wishes to thank FDA for the training and the preventive and protective measures they took their supervisors and general staff through over the past eight(8) weeks.

“The general public is assured of excellent service from Marwako staff regarding food safety, food security,food quality assurance and customer service,” Mohammed Amin Lamptey published on Mawarko’s fast food social media page on July 8, 2022.

Meanwhile, we are yet to sight a statement issued by the FDA confirming the directive of reopening.
