All three review applications of suspended Assin North Member of Parliament, James Gyakye Quayson have been deferred by the Supreme Court for the second time.

In an earlier decision, Mr Quayson was barred from performing parliamentary duties by the Supreme Court just as the Cape Coast High Court and the Court of Appeal.

The court has been urged to assess the application of the Assin North Member of Parliament.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, the case was scheduled to be called but it was adjourned by a court registrar without providing any explanation.

In addition, Mr Quayson has petitioned the Supreme Court to examine the Court of Appeal’s decision to dismiss his appeal against the High Court’s order to debar him from serving as a Member of Parliament for the Assin North Constituency.

Mr Michael Ankomah-Nimfah, a private man, is the plaintiff in the substantive matter, which involves the interpretation of article 94(2)(a) of the 1992 constitution.
