President Akufo-Addo has once again made a strong case for the Free Senior High School Program, arguing that this is the surest way of trying to add more value to the Ghanaian economy.

He added that this will go a long way to help to create acceptable, well-paying jobs for the youth of the country.

“The implementation of the Free SHS is the surest way of succeeding in adding value to the Ghanaian economy, thereby helping to create acceptable, well-paying jobs for the young people of our country,” The Presidency quoted Mr Akufo-Addo in a tweet on Monday, April 11.

The Free Senior High School flagship policy was birth in 2017 in fulfilment of Akufo-Addo’s campaign promise prior to the 2016 general elections.

“Today, we throw open the doors of opportunity and hope to our young people… We have a sacred duty to our children and the generations beyond in ensuring that, irrespective of their circumstances, their right to education is preserved,” the President said to an ecstatic crowd at the West Africa Senior High School premises at Adenta.

He added “I want every Ghanaian child to attend secondary school not just for what they learn in books, but for the life experiences that they will gain. I want each of them to look in the mirror in the morning, every morning, and know that they can achieve anything they dream of when they complete their studies.
